Proof I was down under…

Here’s a bit of proof that I was in Australia recently. I’m not very good with pictures (by “with” I mean being in them or ever doing anything with the pics I do take), but I was able to do a couple here for posterity.
“Burger King” by any other name tastes just as scrumptious…

I’m confused. I understand Royale With Cheese, due to the metric system, but Why TF is Burger King called Hungry Jacks?

This wikipedia article has more than you’d want to know.
My reading is that the original franchisee (Colwin) chose the name from a list US BK gave, because the name BK was already used in Australia.
Original BK trademark lapsed, and US BK and Colwin got in to dispute. BK claimed he hadn’t opened enough stores based on original agreement. BK started opening their own stores (with Royal Dutch Shell?).
Colwin sued BK for breach of contract and won. BK quit in Australia and sold operations to a New Zealand company. Apparently then BK allowed HJ to rename existing BK stores to HJ stores, but not all have undergone a name change, so you still have some BK and some HJ near each other.
Much more detail there at wikipedia.

@AG - we went there twice. First time I had a ’spicy chicken’ sandwich, which was on a long baguette. Not quite like a Wendy’s “spicy chicken” but still good. Second time I had a Whopper.
