A republican I could vote for…

January 30th, 2007

Michael Charles Smith seems to be someone I could vote for if, well, I could vote for him.  I mean, I would considering voting for him if he was on the ballot.  Unfortunately, he probably doesn’t have much of a chance, but I’m heartened to see someone who might be classed as an ‘outsider’ trying to make change from within.  He could easily try to run as an independant, but in one of the interviews I read, he said he thinks he’ll have more of an impact on the Republican party by making a statement from the inside rather than through an outside party.

His messages of reduced government and reduced party focus on “social” issues are primarily what attracts me, and what will hopefully attract other people.  Good luck, Mr. Smith.
